Hi Internet!
So this last week or so has been crazy! We were in the weight room for a little while - where we took hilarious pictures - and did some really difficult workouts. On Thursday we went to my friend Shweta's tae kwondo studio! It was so crazy! We practiced different types of kicks and some punch combos. We even tried to hit those things that make really intimidating noises - like a THWACK - which was so fun. I got so dizzy at one point because we were doing turny kicks... I definitely want to go back later on in the year! My favourite part by far was holding a guard and letting people hit me. It was scary but I felt strong and empowered afterwards. BTW at the end of the day, Shweta kicked one of those boards like a ninja master! It was her first time to! So impressive!
On Friday we did the Insanity workout, which is very appropriately named! At the end I was huffing and puffing so hard that I couldn't blow out a candle. The people in this video are so intimidating! They are always so perfectly sculpted and they have crazy endurance! I tried to keep up but mostly I was competing with two guys from another class. This workout was very difficult for me because I was not feeling good that day, randomly I would get waves of nausea and dizziness. My friends definitely helped during those points. They reminded me to pace myself and the support helped me push myself within my limits. I really tried to be competitive but in the end I had to think about myself and I "forfeited". I'll beat them next time :P
Today our class and Mr. Neufeld's class went ice skating, which was so fun! We took the bus there and skated for about 45 minutes then bused back. The skating was so fun because I got to teach a couple people! Before this I hadn't skated for about 10 months. I was so happy to be back and to go as fast as possible :D I'm going to include a picture that Mr. Neufeld took.
I am so excited for tomorrow because we are going snowshoeing! I have never been snowshoeing before so this will be a new adventure! I'll fill you in after okay? CAN'T WAIT!!!

NIce post Kaitlin. I like hearing that you are working hard and pushing yourself in class - if you keep doing this, you will see big benefits. It does feel good, doesn't it?
